The Crewel work, using Appletons crewel wool, on a cotton twill fabric, was my first embroidery post eye operation, and post first child.
The Bird above is work on a painted background, using strandard cotton in long and short shading

Your bird looks almost real. What a great job you have done with it.

That is something that I would also love to stitch as I love birds so much and have great pleasure watching them in my garden through the window where I do my stitching and hearing them singing when it is warm enough to open the windows.
